It was a mix of high-end soulful house and disco last Friday at Akbar, lightly seasoned with booty bass and hip-hop. Think Aaliyah and Whitney performing at an after-hours warehouse in heaven (there was that projection wall with trippy visuals and topical video clips). Sharper Image partnered with L.A.G. Vintage, a local vintage clothier/thrift store, which does a pop up shop at the parties. It’s always nice to drink while shopping.
