The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department made nine arrests at a checkpoint on San Vicente Boulevard just north of Beverly on Friday night.
The checkpoint is part of the department’s effort to reduce driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or driving by unlicensed drivers. It began at 7 p.m. Friday and ended at 3 a.m. Saturday.
According to the department, 837 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 764 drivers checked. Four were arrested for driving under the influence, one was arrested for driving with a suspended or revoked license and five were arrested for being unlicensed. Deputies impounded one vehicle for 30 days and seven were sent to storage for one day.
