West Hollywood Launches Redesigned Mobile Website

West Hollywood has launched a new version of its mobile website.If you log on to the city of West Hollywood’s website from a smartphone or tablet, you’ll notice a whole new look.

The new mobile version of www.weho.org features colorful clickable icons with labels such as “news,” “calendar,” “parking citations” (as in, pay, contest or track your citation) and “agendas” (which you can click to see agendas and minutes from city meetings).

“The mobile site launches automatically on any smartphone or tablet, such as an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. It is also viewable from any traditional desktop or laptop computer by resizing the browser application window to mimic the size of a smartphone device,” the city said in a press release. “The City’s Public Information Office worked with Vision Internet, which specializes in creating unique, robust websites for local government agencies, to develop a strong mobile redesign with the goal of greatly enhancing user experience.”

According to the city, 30 percent of its websites 160,000 monthly page views are from mobile devices. In addition to its website, the city’s online presence includes the use of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest, Foursquare, YouTube and Tumblr.
