‘Broadway Cage Match’ at Rockwell

Justin Jones (“Tosh.O” Reprise Theatre Co.) and Bruce Merkle (“The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno,” La Mirada’s “Spring Awakening”) launch their “Broadway Cage Match,” cabaret competition. This month’s cage match features cast members from the Hollywood Bowl’s production of “Hair” and La Mirada Theatre’s production of “Les Misérables.”  “See some of the most talented triple-threats in Los Angeles hone all their skills to duke it out in interactive fast-paced performance challenges,” says a press release. “Quick changes, 16-bars, kick-ball-changes and heavy belting will syphon the weak from the triumphant. The audience will chose the victor.” Broadway Cage Match is produced by Rockwell’s executive producer Kate Pazakis and  managed by Ryann Ferguson.

“Hair” cast members include Jonah Platt (“Floyd Collins at La Mirada Center for Performing Arts, “For the Record: Baz Luhrman” at Rockwell and the  LA revival of “Bare”;  Jennifer Foster (“Glee,” “If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet”  at Roundabout Theatre Company and “Fat Camp: The Musical”), and  Louis Pardo (“Jesus Christ Superstar” national tour, “Light in the Piazza” at South Coast Rep and “The Who’s Tommy” at San Diego Rep.)

“Les Miserables” cast members include  Valerie Rose Curiel (“Company” at Crown Theatre, “Los Americans,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “NCIS: Los Angeles”), Sarah Elizabeth Combs (“Phantom of the Opera” at The Venetian Las Vegas, “I Love Lucy Live!” national tour and “Sweeney Todd” at Music Theatre West) and Cassandra Murphy (“Miss Saigon” for McCoy Rigby Entertainment, China, “The Sweet Smell of Success” at Music Theatre Guild and NBC’s “The Voice.”)
