An overnight fire damaged Kat Von D’s celebrity tattoo parlor and a next door barber shop today.
The blaze, reported about 4 a.m., damaged High Voltage Tattoo and Trendsetters Barber Shop, according to Los Angeles County firefighters. The businesses are on the southwest corner of La Brea Avenue and Fountain.
A burglary alarm went off, but a sheriff’s deputy said it may have been set off by the fire, which burned for more than an hour in the attic. The shop was red-tagged, meaning it has been designated as unsafe to be occupied, and damages are being tallied.
Kat Von D, a Mexican American artist born Katherine von Drachenberg, in 2010 lost her cat in a fire in her home in the Hollywood Hills. Von D, 32, is known for her show “L.A. Ink,” which ran for four seasons on TLC Reality Television.
