EDITORS NOTE:  The following event has been cancelled.

The City of West Hollywood is partnering with the Amanda Foundation to offer West Hollywood residents an opportunity to have a dog or cat spayed or neutered — free of charge. The Amanda Foundation offers California’s most successful free mobile Spaymobile program, which helps to control the pet population and saves animals from an uncertain fate. On June 20 at 8 a.m., the Spaymobile will be stationed at the El Tovar Lot, located at 8752 El Tovar Place, off Robertson Boulevard and adjacent to West Hollywood Park. Appointments must be scheduled in advance.

The Amanda Foundation is the only nonprofit animal charity in the Los Angeles area that owns and operates a full-service veterinary practice. The Amanda Foundation’s Spaymobile provides services in a mobile setting. Last year, the Spaymobile provided more than 7,000 spay/neuter procedures.

To RSVP and for more detailed information about the process of dropping off and picking up a pet from the Spaymobile, please contact the Amanda Foundation toll-free at (888) 349-7388. Participants must have an advance appointment; participation is limited to 35 pets per clinic, and each person is limited to one pet. Proof of West Hollywood residency (valid ID with address or utility bill) will be required; proof of animal licensing is obligatory.
