The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has arrested two suspects in the theft of mail from a building at 906 N. Doheny Drive.
In an email message to WEHOville, Jake Boyd, an agent with the Postal Inspection Service, said those arrested “were the ringleaders of a larger group which we are still working to identify. They have been charged with several federal felonies each for mail theft and fraud related matters. We hope that this will at least deter their associates for a while as the Postal Service works to rekey the area.”
The theft, documented in a video posted above, is one of a rash of break-ins in apartment and condo buildings across the city. The thieves apparently are using master keys, also known as arrow keys, which mail carriers use to get access to buildings and open the panels that give them access to individual mail boxes. The Postal Service has announced that it will begin replacing master key locks in Los Angeles because of the break-ins.
At tonight’s City Council meeting, Mayor Lindsey Horvath said city staff members are reaching out to managers of local Post Office stations and to federal elected officials to press the Postal Service to act on the matter.
WEHOville has been chronicling break-ins in and around West Hollywood as reported by its readers. To date readers have reported break-ins at 14 buildings.

Let the real Dons who run WeHo get our… Read more »
Mail service in West Hollywood is the worst. And the city is so lame that it can’t get the post office to do a wakeup call. Start calling the post master anti-gay and the post office will act quickly to clean up their pathetic act. As for the elected political hacks..no comment.
In november of 2014 every single one of my bills that i paid was never received. I never thought it could have been theft. I should have reported it, but i just repaid everything (some were money orders, so i lost out on several hundred dollars). I have often wondered since all of this has been going on if my mail was stolen.
they needed abiut 10 or 12 more guys to get my grocery coupons
