They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And nowhere could that be more true than with dogs. So you can imagine the arguments that we at WEHOville had choosing the winner of our Cutest Dogs Contest.
Is it all about the eyes? Or does the cuteness of the ears rule? Does curly trump smooth? Should we favor big over little? One thing we could agree on: Breed doesn’t matter. Dogs of any breed, or mixed breeds, are cute just because they are dogs.
So who did we choose? His name is Zach, and his owner is Jerome Cleary, the stand-up comic and actor. Zach, who will be 5 next February, loves going to Bubble dog grooming in the shopping center on Sunset Boulevard at Crescent Heights for his baths. “He’s the love of my life,” says Cleary. “A groomer at PetCo … told me he’s the happiest dog he’s ever met. He usually spends his time licking the groomer’s hands as they try to bath him and trim his hair.”
“Zach always has a smile on his face. I take him to TLC Pet Medical Center in West Hollywood for his medical checkups, and they adore and love him there too.”
We will send Zach, care of Jerome Cleary, a $20 gift certificate for Collar & Leash, a locally owned pet store on Santa Monica Boulevard.
We also want to show you the four runners-up. When you see their pictures, you’ll understand how difficult it was for us to make this decision.
oh, so you guys have already picked and announced the winners?
