We need our own Police Department, WHPD!! $18 million is actually very little spent compared to Beverly Hills with same population but larger land mass then WEHO. We have too much going on to spend so little on police.

I’m always shocked to hear how everyone else has such a completely different experience with people than I do. I have had homeless people near my place even living out of their cars, which I have invited over to my place, offered to be friends and willing to hang out with. The Sheriff’s department contacted me saying that I was making them “uncomfortable”, they had requested that the Sheriff’s ask me to stop bothering them or it will be considered harassment!

West Hollywood Sheriff can not “save our lives” they are amazing people, we seems to forget they are here to protect us and i know they do they best. it is always a place for improvement , but with our new captain, CAPTAIN HOLLY PEREZ. We will get better.
CAPTAIN HOLLY PEREZ is all about respect, love and taking care of all people. from our homeless on our street to all os us.
but we must remember,
WE, MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY ON OUR OWN LIVES.

I called the Weho sheriff, gave them my address and was told by the on-duty sheriff that I needed to call the LA sheriff because he said I didn’t live in West Hollywood. I insisted that I do (my driver’s license says so, my Weho rent controlled lease says so, my voter registration/polling place says so, the NO PARKING/9R Zone sign in front of my building says… Read more »

Thank you Wehoville for the link to fill out the survey and, for the phone number and email of the City of West Hollywood’s Public Safety Department; I made sure to follow up on that! The new Sheriff’s Capt. Holly Perez is a step in the right direction but, stops short of the left direction that would be more helpful in addressing issues of public safety in West Hollywood and, serve as a model for the rest of the country to follow. Way back in 2014 I put up a posting on Google+ in support of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s… Read more »

I wonder if that 18,000,000 is broken down for the City Budget? It would be interesting to see how it’s spent vs the crime, lack of visibility and continued muggings (gay and otherwise).
