A taxi cab driver was killed today in a three-car crash in West Hollywood, according to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
The fatal crash, in which alcohol is believed to be a factor, was reported at 1:39 a.m. on La Brea Avenue near Fountain Avenue.
The driver of a red Hyundai was traveling southbound on La Brea Avenue and failed to stop at a red light, according to Sgt. Enrique Mandujan.
The Hyundai collided with a taxi cab and an Uber vehicle, Mandujan said. The taxi cab driver died at the scene. Bystanders said Uber driver ran from the scene leaving passengers behind and was brought back to the scene by a Sheriff’s deputy.
The injuries of the others involved in the accident weren’t immediately available.
The driver of the Hyundai was detained pending a felony DUI investigation, Mandujan said
i’m very sorry for the loss of the cab driver, which seems to have been eclipsed by a running uber driver.
So the question remains, why would the Uber driver flee the scene if he had nothing to worry about?
Rhetorical question……We know why. Lack of proper insurance.
Stop the UBER without background check and drug test.
I was wondering what all of the sirens were that night, I understand the urge to run – even though an accident wasn’t one’s fault, it’s that fear of confrontation and possible legal issues that overcome one’s sense of logic. I only wish the Uber Driver had come back under his own volition.
Nice move for the Uber driver. Seems to be company policy for Uber. If you think your Uber is there to render help for any thing, Think again. Drugs from a bottle of water so he can drive you off somewhere to rape you and a host of other professional service benefits. More “Ethics of Travis”the company founder, a figurative predator.
Among other things, I’d like to know why the Uber driver ran.
