West Hollywood Media Company, publisher of the community’s most highly read news site and its only locally focused magazine, is pleased to announce that Doug Stichler and Owen Ward have joined us.
Stichler is a serial entrepreneur having opened tanning salons and a modeling studio before becoming head booker at a New York City modeling agency. He also ran several for-profit colleges across the United States. Stichler’s passion is advertising, marketing, training and sales, a subject he has been studying most of his adult life.
Stichler will head sales efforts for WEHOville.com and West Hollywood Magazine and its ancillary and custom publishing projects.
Ward joins West Hollywood Media Company from Off World Enterprise, a full-service marketing and communications firm that he founded. Off World’s mission has been to help businesses and non-profit and political organizations with web design, campaign strategy, fundraising and targeted advertising, with a specific focus on organizations within the West Hollywood area.
Before founding Off World Enterprise, Ward oversaw creative marketing and media as vice president for theatrical marketing for Lionsgate. His award-winning work on trailers and television campaigns brought nationwide audiences to films such as “Precious,” “The Expendables, ” and the SAW and Tyler Perry franchises.
Ward has served on the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce board of directors as vice chair, governmental affairs, as well as on the board of Christopher Street West / L.A. PRIDE. He was also co-president of SoCal Cycle Share, a company that advocated bike sharing programs in West Hollywood and throughout the greater Los Angeles region. Owen will head marketing and digital projects for WHMC.
“I’m delighted to have these guys as my partners,” said Henry E. (Hank) Scott, who founded WHMC in September 2012. “In the brief time we’ve been working together, they have made a great impact because of their incredible connections, their creativity and their marketing savvy.”
“WEHOville.com already is the most high trafficked website covering greater West Hollywood, and West Hollywood Magazine is the first and only publication solely focused on the city rather than celebrity culture. I’m excited to see what new levels we can take this to.”
