Unwary Car Owners Lose $24,450 in Goods Left in Their Cars

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from Jan. 16 to Jan. 22. The times are indicated in Military Time, a concise form in which midnight is indicated as 0000 and noon as 1200. The list also includes the case number.

Jan. 16

Grand Theft. 1100 block La Cienega Boulevard between Dec. 16 and Jan. 17. Three purses, three pairs of boots and clothing were taken from the residence. Loss $21,000. #00310

Grand Theft. 8700 block Santa Monica Boulevard
between 10 p.m and 1:30 am. An iPad and sunglasses were taken from an unlocked vehicle. Loss $3,800. #00392

Jan. 17

Other Burglary. 1200 block Kings Road
between 9 a.m and 9:30 p.m. A mailbox was pried open and mail was taken. Unknown loss. #00299

Jan. 18

Grand Theft. 8700 block Beverly Boulevard @ 10:50 a.m. A man took a purse from a table and ran to a nearby vehicle. The victim was sitting at the table when the theft occurred. Loss $4,675. #00305

Residential Burglary. 1200 block Kings Road
between 6 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. A man entered an unlocked patio door and removed a wallet, calendar book, and oPhone from a living room table. Loss $960. #00321

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Ashcroft Avenue between 7 and 7:30 p.m. The rear window latch was pried open and two leather seats, two subwoofers, and two speakers were removed. Loss $9,000. #00313

Jan. 19

Aggravated Assault -Gun. Fairfax Avenue / Norton Avenue @ 3:35 .pm. A man pointed a handgun at another man during an argument related to the suspects driving. The victim was on foot. #00333

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 900 block Hilldale Avenue @ 2:05 am. A man used force on the front door to gain entry and was confronted by the victim in the living room. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. Loss $800 (door). #00320

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 5 and 5:10 p.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed and a suitcase, iPad, portable keyboard, iPhone, and two pairs of glasses were taken from the back seat. Loss $3,400. #00336

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Almont Drive
between 7:30 11 p.m. The rear passenger’s side window was smashed and a laptop and two briefcases were taken from the back seat. Loss $1,200. #00341

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Orlando Avenue
between 11 p.m. and 6:30 am. The rear passenger’s side window was smashed and a think pad was taken from under the passenger’s seat. Loss $950. #00343

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 5 p. and 5:15 p.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed and a backpack, iPad, and Mac Book Air were taken from the back seat. Loss $3,400. #00354

Vehicle Burglary. 8591 Sunset Boulevard between 2 and 6 pm. The front passenger’s side window was smashed and a backpack was taken from the front seat. Loss $220. #00339

Jan. 20

Other Burglary. 9000 block Sunset Boulevard
between 3 p.m. and 8 a.m. Three coils of copper wire and 11 power boxes were taken from a construction site. Loss $7,300. #00400

Other Burglary. 9100 block Sunset Boulevard between Jan. 20 and Jan. Force was used on the front door to gain entry and jewelry was taken from several display cases. Loss $80,000. #00405

Vehicle Burglary
7900 block Santa Monica Boulevard between noon and 12:30 p.m. The rear driver’s side window was smashed and a backpack and two Pads were taken from the back seat. Loss $1,800. #00348

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Sunset Boulevard,
between 3 and 4 p.m. A backpack, laptop, headphones and prescription medication were taken from the back seat and a suitcase containing clothing was taken from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. Loss $5,700. #00349

Jan. 21

Other Burglary. 400 block North Robertson Boulevard @ 12:45 am. The front glass door was smashed to gain entry and a cash register was taken from the counter area. Loss $1,600. #00360

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Keith Avenue @ 2:15 a.m. A man used force on the front door to gain entry and was confronted by the victim in the living room. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #00362

Jan. 22

Aggravated Assault – Gun (Suspect Arrested). 9031 Elevado Ave. @ 9:45 p.m. A man pointed a handgun at his landlord. The suspect was arrested. #00394

Grand Theft. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. A purse, iPhone, laptop computer, headphones, and a passport were taken from the back seat of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $4,900. #00390
