Detectives at the West Hollywood Sheriff”s Station are seeking the public’s help in finding suspects in a burglary that occurred at the Gina Amir Atelier jewelry store at 509 North Robertson Blvd. on the morning of June 23.
Detectives have learned that someone forced the store’s door open using a spark plug at about 5 a.m. Once inside, he took diamonds and other precious jewels valued at $400,000. A surveillance video shows the suspect committing the burglary then running to an awaiting vehicle and fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as an African-American or Hispanic man, six feet tall and weighing 210 pounds. He appears to be between 25 and 35 years old. The suspects’ vehicle was a four-door silver or dark colored sedan.

The Gina Amir Atelier is known for its expensive diamond jewelry. It got unwanted publicity from TMZ and other gossip sites earlier this year when it was sued by Magic Johnson. Johnson claimed that the shop did not return a $250,000 deposit he made so that he could borrow a gold and platinum ring covered in diamonds and a platinum necklace with 101 white diamonds, all valued at $850,000 for use by his wife, Cookie. Johnson said he returned the jewelry undamaged.
