A call came in alerting the fire department to the blaze at around 6 p.m. today. It generated large amounts of smoke that drifted past Gardner and led to the closing of Santa Monica Boulevard between Genesee and Fairfax in both directions during rush hour.

It surely smelled bad. The adjacent stories remind me of the arsonist also.

Giant jump to your conclusion. My Brother has worked there for 30 years. He is in upper management and very close with the family that owns this business. They are all extremely devastated they’re not that good of actors. You should really think before you make such statements especially when people are hurting so bad over such a loss. They will be bringing trailers in tomorrow, and will be up and running so much for the insurance scam .

I think it is jumping to conclusions to say “seems like an insurance scam” just because there was a fire”. I just hope that nobody was hurt and that nobody loses their job because of this fire.

When I first smelled it, my first thought was a neighbor was having a BBQ because my apartment always fills with smoke and the smell of it when they do LOL. I was disheartened to hear that a long-time local business was on fire. I hope they bounce back from this.

I witnessed it…seems like an insurance scam….bunch of people lined the streets to watch…developers are salivating at this plot and the family owned business will get $$ for the insurance and to sell building and land…AND because it’s fire damage they can fast track demolition.
