Eight Vehicle Burglaries and One Rape in WeHo Last Week

Below is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from Oct. 16 to 22. The list includes each case number. This report lists Part 1 (serious) crimes for the date range shown and is not meant to be a complete list of all serious crime. The Crime Mapping website lists theft of property worth $950 or more from an unlocked car on the 8700 block of West Knoll Drive at 4 p.m. on Oct. 19, the rape of a woman near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard at 2:15 a.m. on Oct. 22, and theft of property worth $950 or more from a passenger van on Santa Monica Boulevard at Laurel Avenue at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.

Strong Arm Robbery. La Brea Avenue / Santa Monica Boulevard at 5:30 p.m. A man was riding his bicycle on La Brea Avenue on the sidewalk when he got into an argument with another man. The argument escalated and the victim was punched several times in the face. The suspect rode away from the area on the victim’s bicycle. Loss $50. #05673

Other Burglary. 1200 block Fuller Avenue (Attempt) at 2:50 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a window screen but was scared away by a witness. The location is a vacant property. No loss. #05670

Oct. 18

Residential Burglary. 900 block Curson Avenue between noon and 11:20 p.m. An unknown suspect used force on the front door to gain entry. Nothing was taken. Loss $200 (door). #05686

Oct. 19

Grand Theft. 8700 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. An unknown suspect ransacked the interior and removed a tote bag containing a laptop computer from the back seat of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $2,300. #05761

Oct. 20

Armed Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 7500 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 10:18 a.m. A man was getting gas when a man approached him and asked for money. The victim refused and was hit on the head with an umbrella. The suspect also approached two other victims while armed with a knife and demanded money. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. #05713

Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Beverly Boulevard at 4 a.m. A suspect was found inside the store and arrested by deputies responding to an alarm at the location. No sign of forced entry. #05710

Residential Burglary. 1000 block Croft Avenue between 3 p.m. and 10 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a flat screen television from the living room. No sign of forced entry. Loss $3,000. #05745

Vehicle Burglary. Santa Monica Boulevard / Havenhurst Drive between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger side windows but did not take anything. Loss $600 (windows). #05729

Vehicle Burglary. 7700 block Hampton Avenue between 2 a.m. and 7 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a speaker from the trunk area. No sign of forced entry. Loss $600. #05734

Vehicle Burglary. 800 block North Kings Road between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear cargo door window and removed luggage from the rear cargo area. Loss $1,700. #05738

Vehicle Burglary. Genesee Avenue / Norton Avenue between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. An unknown suspect ransacked the interior and removed a laptop computer from underneath the passenger’s seat. No sign of forced entry. Loss $1,000. #05749

Vehicle Burglary. 500 block Alfred Street between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a case and laptop computer from the rear floorboard. No sign of forced entry. Loss $1,500. #05792

Oct. 21

Strong Arm Robbery (Attempt). 600 block North Robertson Boulevard at 3:05 a.m. A man was filming an altercation on the street when a man reached into the victim’s car and attempted to pull the camera from the victim’s hand. Another man threw a rock at the victim’s vehicle and shattered the windshield. #05733
