Just before 6:30 p.m. this evening, West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies and L.A. County firefighters responded to reports of a car crash at the corner of and Fountain Avenue and North Flores Street.
They arrived to find a two vehicle collision involving an Uber vehicle and a caxi Cab. The taxi ended up on the sidewalk of Fountain Avenue. It is unclear if there were any injuries.
West Hollywood Sheriff deputies temporarily closed eastbound Fountain Avenue and northbound Flores Street while the accident was cleared. The deputies are handling the investigation.
There need to be speed “humps” installed on Fountain on every block in WEHO.
Not a very smart suggestion….traffic is already a nightmare in the mornings and evenings. Installing speed “humps” will only slow it down more.
Here is a super idea … instead of our sheriff department NOT bothering to do ANYTHING to curb speeding traffic during peak crash… err traffic time , maybe they could actually do something ! I drove behind a sheriff the other day witness 12 traffic violations / 6 could have caused accidents and guess what our sheriffs did. Nothing , you guessed it ! What do they actually do besides wait for a call and wait to go home ?
Likewise, multiple infractions are visible every time one drives. Even the vigilant are on high alert.
Some of our sheriff deputies have acknowledge there is not sufficient budget to train and hire enough deputies. In addition, the quality of some in place is questionable. Crime, traffic incidents and other issues keep happening while the deputies appear to be bystanders.
Get smart Weho. With our ever increasing tourist influx, sooner or later incidents will impact the “positive tourist destination” of WeHo.
We live on this corner… there are so many crashes. Sometimes several a day. Take care out there kids (or install lights)
