Crime Last Week in WeHo: Residential Burglaries and Cellphone Thefts

Here is the weekly crime report from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station that calls out incidents in WeHo from April 2 to 8. The list includes each case number. This report lists Part 1 (serious) crimes for the date range shown and is not meant to be a complete list of all serious crimes.

April 2

Grand Theft. 9000 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:30 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a wallet and cell phone from the victim’s purse while on the dance floor. Loss $1,700. #02133

Grand Theft. 8400 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 5:30 p.m.. A women removed 13 items of clothing and shoes and left the store without payment. Loss $9,760. #02145

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspects Arrested). Poinsettia Place / Santa Monica Boulevard at 11:54 a.m. Two men hit one other on the face and body with high heeled shoes while arguing inside of a vehicle. Both suspects were arrested. #02116

Other Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevar at 3:13 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed a front window to gain access and removed a safe containing $2,000 cash and ten cartons of cigarettes. Loss $4,500. #02118

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 1000 block Orange Grove Avenue at 2:40 p.m. A maintenance worker saw two men attempting to enter a vacant apartment and notified West Hollywood Station. Responding deputies located one of the suspects outside of the location and arrested him. The suspect was in possession of a garage clicker that was taken from the same apartment complex during a previous burglary. #02120

Residential Burglary. 7500 block Hampton Avenue at 12:53 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a doorknob to gain entry to the apartment complex and damaged five additional doorknobs as he was entering various areas of the building. Loss $300. #02109

April 4

April 5

Grand Theft. 7700 block Hampton Avenue between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. An unknown suspect removed two medical pumps from the rear storage area of the unlocked vehicle. Loss $3,500. #02178

Residential Burglary. 8900 block Rosewood Avenue at 6:50 p.m. Four men were seen climbing into the victim’s open window by a neighbor. The suspects realized they had been seen and fled the area. No loss. #02166

Armed Robbery. 400 block Westmount Drive at 10:30 p.m. A women was standing in the driveway retrieving a key from her backpack when a man approached her while armed with a handgun and demanded her backpack. The suspect pulled the victim’s backpack from her shoulder and fled the area on foot. Loss $125 (passport, key, debit card, backpack). #02171

April 6

Vehicle Burglary. 800 block Westbourne Drive between 10:45 and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a book and wallet from the front floorboard. The backpack and wallet were found later that evening on the street. Loss $1,050. #02196

Vehicle Burglary. 8300 block De Longpre Avenue between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a shopping bag containing wine glasses, towels, and four pillows from the back seat. No sign of forced entry. Loss $90. #02214

April 7

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 12:35 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone from the victim’s jacket while inside the club. Loss $1,000. #02193

Grand Theft. 600 block Robertson Boulevard between 9:30 p.m. and 1:45 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a computer bag containing a laptop computer, wallet, and cell phone that was left unattended on a chair inside the club. Loss $1,790. #02241

April 8

Aggravated Assault – Knife (Suspect Arrested). 900 block San Vicente Boulevard at 2:45 a.m. A man pulled a knife and threatened a Lyft driver after he was asked to leave the vehicle. Responding deputies located and arrested the suspect. #02232

Strong Arm Robbery. 1200 block North La Brea Avenue at 1:15 a.m. A woman was walking on Fountain Avenue when a man approached her from behind, grabbed her arm and pulled her purse from her hand. The suspect then fled the area on foot. Loss $225 (purse, wallet, passport, credit cards, $20 cash). #02228

Strong Arm Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 6:51 p.m. A women set up a meeting to sell two iPhones to the suspects. During the meeting, the suspects took the phones from the victim and fled the area on foot. Responding deputies located and arrested one of the suspects and recovered one of the phones. Loss $450. #02240

Strong Arm Robbery (Attempt). 1300 block Laurel Avenue at 11:11 p.m. A woman was walking on Laurel Avenue with her cell phone in her hand when another woman approached her and attempted to take the phone. The victim retained possession of her phone. #02249
