A Free (and Virtual) Ride on the Sunset Strip

We West Hollywood residents are notorious for not making that modest hike (or drive) up San Vicente or any of our other north/south streets to explore all the Sunset Strip has to offer.

The video above shows us what we are missing. Just released by the City of West Hollywood, it promotes the Sunset Trip, a trolley that will provide free rides Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

The Sunset Trip will launch next month, with a celebration of that launch taking place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at 1OAK at 9039 W. Sunset Blvd.

The video above illustrates not only the Sunset Strip, but also areas of Melrose Avenue, Santa Monica Boulevard, and other West Hollywood locations where the Sunset Trip will make its rounds.

Riders on the Sunset Trip and the city’s PickUp nightlife trolley on Santa Monica Boulevard will be able to connect at two stops at Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.

I like the video, it goes to show that we could have dozens of these trolleys and completely replace private cars on our streets just like the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica for all of West Hollywood! 🙂

Good video. I hope the line is a success.
