November Election Isn’t Over Until Dec. 4

Those of you waiting with bated breathe to learn whether Betsy Butler or Richard Bloom will be representing the 50th Assembly district (which includes West Hollywood) should breathe deep and relax through the holidays. The Los Angeles Country Registrar says it won’t release results in this hotly contested race until Dec. 4. Bloom, Santa Monica’s mayor, was ahead of Butler by 291 votes as of Friday, an increase from Tuesday’s 218 vote margin. The registrar’s office continues to count provisional and mail-in ballots.
