ICYMI: Fisticuffs at the Counter at West Hollywood’s McDonalds

“Lovin’ Beats Hatin’,” that 2016 McDonald’s slogan, didn’t last for long. But it would have been nice to hear it last week at the WeHo McDonald’s, where hatin’ clearly was beating lovin’.

A battle between a customer and the counter staff was captured by someone at the restaurant at 1133 N. La Brea Ave. who doesn’t want to be identified, according to LoudLabs. It was broadcast today on KABC 7 News.

“Video shows a man and an employee arguing. The man then starts spilling something onto the counter,” says the LoudLabs report. “The employee then starts throwing items at the customer. The video also shows the customer about to leave… but at some point, the employee also continued throwing something at the customer. The man can be seen throwing more items. It’s unclear what started the brawl…. McDonald’s has not commented on the video.

According to KABC7, no one at McDonald’s has reported the incident to law enforcement.

The shopping center housing the SunsetBlvd. McDonalds is in the Los Angeles, NOT West Hollywood. All the development issues regarding 8150 Sunset were before the LA City Council. West Hollywood and other entities sued Townscape & City of LA on various legal issues.

Mr. Scott if this were in the city limits of West Hollywood it would be a different ball game all together.

The story is about the McDonalds on North La Brea Avenue, which is in West Hollywood

Can we close these gmo/pharma poison food businesses once and for all.
They have no place in a conscious community and just cause problems.

Also, they serve caged, factory animals. It’s wrong to eat at these place. if you’re going eat meat, only eat pasture raised organic otherwise you’re eating abused animals eating a junk diet. You are what you eat. Many evolving cities ban places like McDonald’s. Weho tried to do that and it didn’t pass the last time around. When you get rid of these awful places, your community improves greatly.

Excellent points, you basically beat me to the punch! The Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition has done a great job with their Food Trucks in providing badly needed healthy free meals to low income and homeless people in Hollywood. Many times low income and homeless people are forced to depend on nutritionally deficient corporate fast food as a major part of their diet (corporate fast food even successfully lobbied to gain access to EBT benefits), resulting in a wide range of long term health problems. A great deal of evidence exists showing that a diet based largely based on fast… Read more »

YES I know what you mean but, it’s difficult to get people like Trump and his supporters to take responsibility for their own problems as opposed to scapegoating nonwhites and poor people!

I couldn’t think of a place in WeHo where there was a McDonald’s restaurant.
Now I know.

There’s one at Sunset and Crescent Heights, for pity sake.

Can’t wait for that one to be gone when that strip mall becomes a Getty development. When I was a kid, McDonald’s wasn’t nearly as bad as it is today. The food is just poison for kids now. I think it’s child abuse to feed them this garbage.

That entire shopping center, McDonald’s and all, is in the City of Los Angeles. Not WeHo.

It’s near the city border but that shopping center is located in Los Angeles, not West Hollywood.

Hopefully this will help settle the issue. If you take a look at the City of West Hollywood in Google Maps, if you go to the East end of West Hollywood’s boundaries you can see that it encloses the entire shopping center. Now I can understand the desire to disown many of the people who hang out at the McDonald’s on La Brea but, that area is enclosed by the borders of West Hollywood. An even bigger problem is Texas, we should really give that back to Mexico!

Not that it matters all that much, especially since it is on its way out, but the Crescent Heights one is in the City of Los Angeles, right next to the border.

I’ve been to that McDonald’s on La Brea Avenue more than a few times and, this sort of thing goes on there all the time! I even posted a Google Review about the WeHo McDonald’s on La Brea well before this article, many of the other reviews are far harsher than mine. With the McDonald’s open 24 hours a day selling nutritionally deficient food to some of our most vulnerable populations, even able to do so via EBT benefits, it compounds many already serious problems. Now if many of the same people we are having problems with at this McDonald’s… Read more »
