Car Burglars Raked in Cash and Gold in West Hollywood Last Week

A backpack with $4,000 in cash. A $15,000 gold chain. Some car burglars cashed in big in West Hollywood last week. Below are listed serious (Part 1) crimes reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station between June 18 and 24.

June 18

Grand Theft. 8800 block Cynthia Street between 10:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. A man removed a wallet containing $480 cash from an unsecured office. Loss $980. #04016

Other Burglary. 8600 block Melrose Avenue at 2 a,m. An unknown suspect forced the front door open to gain entry and removed the cash register drawer. Loss $1,050. #04007

crime, west hollywood sheriff's stationResidential Burglary. 1200 block Orange Grove Avenue between 6:15 and 11:40 p.m. An unknown suspect used an unlocked side gate and unlocked front door to gain entry and removed a laptop computer, clothing, shoes, and jewelry from the bedroom. The suspect also used the victim’s shower. Loss $1,600. #04055

Vehicle Burglary. 8300 block Fountain Avenue between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. An unknown suspect forced the driver’s side window down and removed a wallet from the center console. Loss $40. #04063

June 20

Grand Theft. 1200 block La Cienega Boulevard between 11 and 11:20 a.m. A man and woman removed a TV, mirror, lamp, coffee machine and several pieces of clothing from the residence while renting the property. Loss $10,000. #04086

Grand Theft (Suspect Arrested). 600 block North Robertson Boulevard at 2:43 p.m. A man removed several pieces of clothing from the employee locker room and fled the area on foot. The suspect returned later that same night and was recognized by security and detained. Responding deputies arrested the suspect and recovered the stolen clothing hidden near the business. Loss $1,300 (recovered). #04101

Residential Burglary. 1000 block North Ogden Drive at 4:50 p.m. A mane kicked in the laundry room door to gain access and was found lying on the living room couch when the victim entered his residence. The victim also found a woman in his bedroom. Both suspects fled the area on foot. Loss $1,800. #04161

June 21

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon. 1100 block North La Brea Avenue at 10:27 p.m. A man threw a food tray and plastic caution sign at an employee after he was asked to leave the restaurant because of prior aggressive behavior towards staff. #04100

June 22

Vehicle Burglary. 8500 block Melrose Avenue between 12:55 and 1:15 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a duffel bag containing a passport, wallet, checks and credit cards from the rear floorboard. Loss $2,500. #04103

Vehicle Burglary. 1100 block Greenacre Avenue between 5 and 5:09 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a pair of glasses from the center console. No sign of forced entry. Loss $200. #04109

Vehicle Burglary. 8700 block Holloway Drive between 6:45 and 7:05 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a briefcase containing a laptop computer and jacket from the front floorboard. The suspect also removed a leather bag containing a gold chain from the front floorboard. No sign of forced entry. Loss $21,000 (gold chain $15,000). #04123

June 23

Vehicle Burglary. 7600 block Santa Monica Boulevard between June 23 and June 24. An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger side windows and ransacked the interior but did not take any items. Loss $600. #04150

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Stanley Avenue between 4 p.m. and 11 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a pair of sunglasses and ear buds from the center console. Loss $2,000. #04155

June 24

Grand Theft (Suspect Arrested). 400 block North Robertson Boulevard at 1:40 p.m. A women removed a leather jacket and left the store without payment. The suspect was detained by a store employee and arrested by responding deputies. #04157

Grand Theft. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard at 9:50 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a wallet containing $2,000 in cash after it fell out of the victim’s purse. Loss $3,200. #04166

Other Burglary. 1000 block Harper Avenue between noon and 9 a.m. An unknown suspect broke the pad lock on a security gate to gain access to an unsecured garage. Once inside the garage, the suspect cut the lock and removed a bicycle. Loss $250. #04178

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 1200 block Fuller Avenue at 6:10 p.m. A man kicked the front door open to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and confronted her in the living room. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #04163

Vehicle Burglary. 8300 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 1:30 and 2:52 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the front passenger side window and removed a cell phone from the front passenger side seat. Loss $1,000. #04160
