The L.A. County Fire Department is offering West Hollywood residents a series of three classes next month that will provide basic training in safety and life saving skills.
The three seven-hour sessions will take place at West Hollywood Park Auditorium, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd., south of Santa Monica, on Oct. 13, 20 and 27. Each session will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Those who complete the sessions will receive a Community Emergency Response Team certificate.
The sessions, led by experts, will include instructions on emergency preparedness, fire safety emergency medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology and terrorism.
The CERT training is free of charge, but the class size is limited. Those who want to participate must register in advance by contacting Rob Winrader at RWinrader@WeHo.org or (323) 848-6580.
