Santa Monica Blvd at Fairfax Closed Because of Suspicious Object

UPDATE: Deputies determined the object to be non-threatening and reopened Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue to traffic around 11:15 p.m.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. tonight, West Hollywood sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue for a reported suspicious object.

That object is described as a pressure cooker. Authorities have closed down the entire intersection in a one block radius. A bomber squad is on the scene investigating.
