Police Tuesday were seeking additional possible victims of a 22-year-old San Fernando Valley man suspected of sexually assaulting a number of women he met at clubs in the Hollywood and West Hollywood areas.
Omar Talley was arrested on July 11, the date, police allege, of his last attack, and is being held at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic in lieu of $1.6 million bail.
“Talley claims to be a nightclub promoter and social media influencer,” according to a statement released by the Los Angeles Police Department. “He moved from the state of New Jersey to California a few years ago, taking up residency in the Lake Balboa area of the San Fernando Valley.” Talley has 23,787 followers on one of his Facebook pages.
According to police, Talley frequented nightclubs in the Hollywood and West Hollywood areas, where he would befriend and gain the confidence of women in their early 20s.
“Talley would then order a rideshare service to transport himself and the young women to his residence in the 6600
The latest victim called for help and patrol officers from the LAPD’s West Valley Station responded. Their investigation determined Talley allegedly forced the woman to perform sexual acts, physically assaulted her and spoke degrading words to her, police said.
“It appears Omar Talley would be charming just before the sexual act, then change his demeanor and force the women to perform sexual acts against their will,” LAPD Detective Katherine Gosser alleged.
Talley has been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with three counts of rape, two counts of oral copulation and one count of forcible act of penetration.
He pleaded not guilty last week and is due back in a Van Nuys courtroom on Friday, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to allow the case against him to proceed to trial.
Anyone with information about Talley was urged to call Gosser at 818- 374-7714.
During non-business hours, calls should be directed to 877-LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or lacrimestoppers.org.
