If you find yourself in the Big Apple yearning for a bit of WeHo, check out the Dalloway. In a blog on Huffington Post, Amanda Leigh Dunn, co-star of “The L Word” and a former resident of West Hollywood, talks about how she missed the Abbey when she moved back to New York. So she got together Kim Stolz, a friend, and opened the Dalloway, named after “Mrs. Dalloway,” the novel by Virginia Woolf. Like the Abbey, its a gathering place for those of multiple persuasions

“Why not create a place where the LGBT community and the rest of society alike could hang out, have some great food, go downstairs for a drink and have an all-around good time?,” Dunn says she reasoned. “Why does it have to be a ‘wrong bar, boys’-type situation? We wanted everyone to be there, enjoying our food, the atmosphere and our vision, and we also wanted our community to feel like they had a home base, a hub, a place to bring their girlfriend, parents, friends, bosses and all of the above.”

It’s at 525 Broome St. in SoHo, open 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, and open 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. We in WeHo love the idea of miming the Abbey in Manhattan. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
