Four Thefts from Stores and Six from Vehicles in WeHo Last Week

A list of reported Part 1 (serious) crimes that occurred between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1 in West Hollywood includes six thefts from vehicles and four incidents involving thefts from stores. The list is below, and a more complete list of crimes, including misdemeanors, can be found on Crimemapping.com

Aug. 26

Other Burglary. 1200 block North Vista Street between 8:24 p.m. and 8:50 a.m. the next day. An unknown suspect removed $300 cash from a cash register and six pairs of tennis shoes from a display area. No sign of forced entry. #05752

Armed Robbery (Suspect Arrested). 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1:25 p.m. A man removed a pair of shorts from a display rack and attempted to leave the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect produced a box cutter knife and threatened the victim. The suspect was allowed to leave and was arrested by responding deputies. #05727

Strong Arm Robbery. Rosewood Avenue / Orlando Avenue at 9 p.m. A man was walking westbound on Rosewood Avenue when a vehicle pulled up near his location. The suspect exited the vehicle and pulled the victim’s cell phone from his grasp. The suspect returned to the vehicle and fled the area. #05740

Strong Arm Robbery (Attempt). 500 block Kings Road at 9:30 p.m. A man was walking northbound on Kings Road when a vehicle pulled up next to him. The suspect exited the vehicle and demanded the victim’s property. The victim ran from the area. No loss. #05750

Vehicle Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 8200 block Sunset Boulevard between 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. A woman smashed the front passenger’s side window and removed a purse from the front seat and got into a vehicle being driven by a man. The man has been arrested and is from San Francisco. #05732

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 5:41 and 6:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer, iPad, and men’s bag from the back seat. #05737

Aug. 27

Armed Robbery. 600 block North San Vicente Boulevard at 2 a.m.  A man was walking southbound on the sidewalk when three men surrounded him and demanded his property while one of the suspects held a handgun near his waistband. The victim complied and the suspects fled the area in a vehicle that was parked nearby. #05746

Strong Arm Robbery. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 9:56 a.m. A man removed headphones and a PlayStation from a display area and left the store without payment. When confronted by store security, the suspect punched the victim in the chest and ran away. #05751

Aug. 28

Other Burglary. 100 block North Wetherly Drive at 10:15 p.m. An unknown suspect used a screwdriver and forced the underground parking garage door open to gain access and entered two unlocked vehicles and removed property. #05809

Aug. 29

Strong Arm Robbery. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 3:10 a.m. A man was punched several times in the face by another man during a dispute outside the club. After the victim fell to the ground, the suspect removed his wallet and cell phone from his pocket and then fled the area. #05800

Vehicle Burglary. Fountain Avenue / Hayworth Avenue between 12:30 and 1:59 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear windshield and removed a duffel bag containing clothing and two backpacks containing a camera and laptop computer from the trunk. #05808

Aug. 30

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a purse containing $500 cash, credit cards, and a social security card from the rear floorboard. #05831

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 12:08 and 12:50 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and wallet from the back seat. #05834

Aug. 31

Grand Theft. 1200 block La Cienega Boulevard between 1:30 and 10:30 a.m. A man removed a cell phone and wallet after being invited into the victim’s residence. #05850

Grand Theft. 1000 block Curson Avenue between 5 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. the next day. An unknown suspect removed an electric bicycle from the front porch of the residence. #05881

Sept. 1

Aggravated Assault – Knife (Suspects Arrested). 1200 block Orange Grove Avenue at 4 p.m. Two men were involved in a fight while inside a residence. A knife was used during the assault, but it’s unclear which suspect used the knife. Both suspects were arrested. #05885

Grand Theft (Suspects Arrested). 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 2:10 a.m. A man and two women were arrested for stealing cell phones from customers. A witness saw the suspects steal approximately 10 cell phones and notified security. The suspects were detained by store security and arrested by responding deputies. #05873
