A Dozen Vehicle Thefts Reported in WeHo Over Two Weeks

Vehicle thefts appear to be on the rise again, with 12 reported to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station between Oct. 7 and 20.  There also were four thefts at area nightclubs.  A complete list of Part 1 (serious) crimes reported to the Sheriff’s Station is listed below. Oct. 7

Grand Theft. 8900 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 1 and 2 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a cell phone and wallet from the victim’s purse while inside the business. #06655

Vehicle Burglary. 8000 block Romaine Street between 5:40 and 7:20 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed tote bag containing an iPad and paperwork from the back seat. #06638

Vehicle Burglary. 1000 block Sierra Bonita Avenue between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. An unknown suspect removed an employment ID badge and stethoscope from the front seat and gym bag containing clothing from the trunk. No sign of forced entry. #06646

Oct. 8

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 8900 block Harratt Street at 5:30 p.m. A man used force to enter the screened patio of the residence and attempted to kick the back door open but was unsuccessful. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #06652

Oct. 9

Robbery (Strong Arm). 1000 block of North Vista Street at 2:45 p.m. A man removed three bottles of alcohol from a display area and attempted to leave the store without payment. An employee told the suspect he needed to pay for the items or return them. The suspect became upset and threatened to kill the employee. #06669

Oct. 10

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block West Knoll Drive between 5:40 and 7:15 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side door and removed a lunch box and a purse containing a makeup bag, glasses, and credit cards from the rear floorboard. #06680

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Melrose Avenue at 9:34 a.m. A man smashed the front and rear passenger’s side window but was unable to gain access. #06688

Oct. 11

Aggravated Assault – Knife. 8600 block Melrose Avenue at 6:30 a.m. A man pulled a knife and threatened two security guards after being asked to leave the area. #06707

Aggravated Assault – Other Weapon (Suspect Arrested) and Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 7700 block Fountain Avenue between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.  A man used an unlocked garage door to gain access to a garage that was attached to a residence. The suspect was found hiding in the garage and arrested. #06741.  The suspect also was charged with aggravated assault for having yelled at the victim while was standing inside his kitchen near the window. The man began yelling at the victim from the walkway of an adjacent property and threw a piece of metal at the victim and shattered the kitchen window. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #06740 and #06741.

Oct. 12

Grand Theft. 9000 block Sunset Boulevard between 11:22 and 11:48 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a leather jacket, cell phone, credit card, and commercial drivers license that were left momentarily unattended on a table inside the club. #06746

Oct. 13

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 10 and 10:15 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a purse containing a wallet and cell phone that was left unattended on a bench inside the club. #06801

Other Burglary. 8400 block Fountain Avenue between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. An unknown suspect entered an unsecured garage and removed a purse. The purse contained a car key and the suspect used the key to steal the vehicle from the driveway. #06777

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard between 7:15 and 9:30 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and a suitcase containing a passport from the back seat. #06775

Vehicle Burglary. 1200 block Larrabee Street at 6:15 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a dog seat from the back seat. #06769

Oct. 14

Grand Theft. 600 block North Robertson Boulevard between 12:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. A man took the victim’s cell phone and wallet while walking southbound on Robertson Boulevard. The victim was intoxicated and unable to remember exactly what happened. #06834

Residential Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 1200 block North Flores at 11:30 p.m. A woman used an unlocked rear door to gain entry and confronted the victim in the bedroom of the residence.  The suspect was arrested by responding deputies. #06806

Oct. 15

Aggravated Assault – Gun. Sweetzer Avenue / Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:20 p.m. A woman pointed a handgun and threatened two victims during a road rage incident. #06822

Oct. 16

Grand Theft. 8300 block Sunset Boulevard at 6:15 p.m. An unknown suspect removed a computer bag containing a laptop computer from the front seat of the unlocked vehicle. The vehicle was with a valet service when the incident occurred. #06881

Vehicle Burglary. 8400 block Santa Monica Boulevard between Oct. 16 and Oct. 17. An unknown suspect smashed the front and rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer and tablet computer from the front seat. The suspect also removed a backpack containing headphones and sunglasses from the front seat. #06850

Vehicle Burglary. 8200 block Sunset Boulevard between 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and pushed the rear seat down but did not take anything. #06851

Oct. 17

Grand Theft. 7300 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 10:50 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a satchel containing a laptop computer and hard drive that was left momentarily unattended outside the car wash bay. #06856

Strong Arm. 1200 block La Brea Avenue at 4 a.m. A man was sleeping on the sidewalk when the suspect punched him on the side of his head and then removed a cell phone and $60 cash from his pants pocket. #06854

Grand Theft. 1300 block Havenhurst Drive between 9:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. An unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from a 2008 Toyota Prius that was parked on the street. #06876

Vehicle Burglary. 600 block Westmount Drive at 10 a.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer from the trunk. The suspect also removed a suitcase containing a laptop computer and shoes and a second suitcase containing a laptop computer, clothes, makeup, telescope, and medicine from the trunk. #06860

Oct. 18

Other Burglary (Suspect Arrested). 1000 block North San Vicente Boulevard between 4:45 and 5:03 a.m. A man used an open door on the loading dock to gain entrance and removed an iPad from the business office and a mail package containing a jacket from a storage area. The suspect was arrested by responding deputies and the property was recovered. #06874

Vehicle Burglary. 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 1 p.m. An unknown suspect used a partially rolled down window to gain access and removed a diaper bag from the interior. #06880

Oct. 19

Grand Theft. 8800 block Sunset Boulevard at 12:31 a.m. An unknown suspect removed a purse containing a wallet and cell phone that was left momentarily unattended on the bar countertop. #06894

Grand Theft (Suspect Arrested). 7100 block Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:20 p.m. A woman removed a purse from a shopping cart while the victim was shopping. The purse contained two cell phones, sunglasses, and $120 cash. The suspect was detained by store security and arrested by responding deputies. #06899

Grand Theft. 8800 block Santa Monica Boulevard between 2:45 and 3:10 a.m. An unknown suspect removed two cell phones and a wallet from the victim’s purse while on the dance floor. #06912

Vehicle Burglary. 8600 block Melrose Avenue between 9:10 and 10:21 p.m. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed two backpacks from the back seat. One backpack contained a Nintendo Switch and clothing and the other backpack contained a laptop computer, passport, and headphones. #06934
