West Hollywood Lowers Flags to Half Staff in Tribute to COVID-19 Victims

The City of West Hollywood has lowered federal, state, and the city flags to half staff in a tribute to victims of the coronavirus pandemic.  The flags will remain at half staff until sunset on Sunday.

President Donald Trump has issued a federal proclamation in honor of the victims of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Flags will be lowered from Friday through sunset on Sunday. Then flags again will again be at half-staff on Monday (Memorial Day) to honor men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

The presidential proclamation came after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer sent Trump a letter asking him to order that flags be flown at half-staff on all public buildings on what they called “a sad day of reckoning” — when the U.S. marks 100,000 deaths.

Who said it was suppose to help anything?
It’s a sign of respect and a way to honor those who have lost their lives.
Would you say the same thing if it was done to honor veterans or lives lost in a war?
