Today there have been 1,192 newly confirmed COVID-19 infections in Los Angeles County, a number that is exceptionally low in part because of a lag in reporting new infections. The Health Department reports nine new deaths, also a number that likely is higher. Based on those number, the total number of COVID-19 infections to date is 221,950 and the total number of deaths related to the virus is 5,254.
The Health Department reported one new confirmed infection among West Hollywood residents today, bringing that count to 466. The number of WeHo residents who have died of COVID-19 related illnesses remains at five. In Beverly Hills, the number of confirmed infections remains at 576. The number of COVID-19 related deaths in Beverly Hills remains at 10. In Culver City the number of infections is now 350, an increase of one from Saturday’s count. The number of deaths remains at 29.
Hollywood has three newly confirmed infections, bringing its total to date is 976. The number of deaths remains at nine. The Melrose neighborhood has eight new confirmed infections, leaving its total at 1,616. The number of COVID-19 related deaths is 58, an increase of one from yesterday’s count.

Residents who do not have COVID-19 can continue to call 211 for resources or more information.
As noted before, one way the virus can be transmitted is through a cough, a sneeze or even through air that comes from the mouth when someone talks. For that reason, residents must wear face coverings when out in public and can be cited for not doing so. The citations come with a $250 fine and a $50 administrative fee.
