On the day Los Angeles County imposed stronger Safer at Home restrictions, the county also crossed the 400,000 threshold in terms of the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases reported since the pandemic began.

The county registered 5,150 new cases of COVID-19 positive test results on Monday, for a cumulative total of 400,919 cases since March.

West Hollywood recorded three new cases on Monday, for a cumulative total of 937 cases since the start of the pandemic.

The data the county health department reports on Mondays are often low, due to a lag in reporting over the weekend. That lag may be even greater due to the four-day Thanksgiving holiday. So, Tuesday’s numbers could be end up being higher.

The county reported 17 new deaths on Monday for a cumulative total of 7,655 deaths since March. Meanwhile, West Hollywood had one new coronavirus death, for a cumulative total of nine deaths.

Of those 7,655 total deaths in the county from COVID, 93% had underlying health conditions, according to the health department.

  • 9% African American/Black residents
  • 1% Other races
  • Less than 1% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander residents
