With hospitals experiencing blood shortages, a blood drive will be held this weekend at the Beverly Center as a kickoff for National Blood Donor Month.
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the Beverly Center will host the blood drive Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The location will be in the now closed Cal Mare Italian restaurant space on the first level/street level of the shopping mall.
Because the blood drive is following social distancing protocols, walk-ins will not be accepted. Instead, they ask that people make a reservation to give blood in advance. The links below are to each day’s reservations:
Each donor will receive complimentary validated parking, a thank you flower and a gift card to Tocaya Organica Mexican restaurant at the Beverly Center.
Under current Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, men who have sex with other men are asked to wait three months since their last sexual encounter with another man before donating blood.
The Beverly Center is located at 8500 Beverly Blvd., between La Cienega and San Vicente boulevards. The entrances to the self-park area is on La Cienega and on San Vicente. Once parked, signs will direct people to the blood drive.
