Various businesses catering to the LGBTQ community have GoFundMe pages up as they struggle to keep afloat until they are allowed to reopen once COVID restrictions are lifted.

This comes as eight other restaurants/bars catering to the LGBTQ community in the greater Los Angeles area have gone under since the coronavirus pandemic began.

So, if you’re looking for a place to share some of your profit, keeping LGBTQ businesses alive isn’t a bad cause. Here’s a rundown of LGBTQ related GoFundMe pages in the greater Los Angeles area

Gym Sports Bar and Grill – They’re opening in a new location at 8919 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood and are asking for the public’s help to cover some of those opening costs. They’re requesting for $75,000 and so far have raised $18,430.  CLICK HERE  for the GoFundMe page.

Hamburger Mary’s – A WeHo institution, the LGBT-themed restaurant that hosts drag bingo, drag shows, karaoke and more is asking for help to cover expenses. After initially asking for $380,000, they quickly lowered the request to $20,000. So far, they have raised $18,998.  CLICK HERE  for the GoFundMe page.

The Eagle LA – The Silverlake leather bar is asking for help to cover expenses until they can reopen. They are asking for $240,000 and so far have raised $109,594.  CLICK HERE  for the GoFundMe page.

Redline – The downtown Los Angeles bar that opened in summer 2015 is trying to stay afloat until allowed to reopen and asking for funds to pay its bills in the meantime. They are asking for $100,000 and so far have raised $33,817.   CLICK HERE  for the GoFundMe page.

Precinct – Also opened since 2105, the downtown Los Angeles bar has become a mainstay with the DTLA LGBTQ crowd. They’re asking for help to cover expenses until they can reopen. They’re asking for $250,000 and so far have raised $42,465.  CLICK HERE  for the GoFundMe page.

Jalisco – The Latino LGBTQ bar located on South Main Street in downtown Los Angeles is also struggling. Unable to get any COVID-related grants, they owe ten months of back rent and likely will close permanently without help. They’re asking for $80,000 and so far have raised $44,790. These GoFundMe pages were all started in the past month, following the incredible success of the GoFundMe campaign for Akbar in Silverlake. In December, the LGBTQ neighborhood bar launched a GoFundMe that raised the requested $150,000 in 24 hours. Even after reaching that goal, people continued donating and Akbar wound up with $230,590 before it finally closed the page.
