With the sign finally on the outside wall at 8454 Melrose Place, there can be no doubt that the much-awaited Isabel Marant boutique is opening soon. Passersby also will note that the lush green lawn outside the white-walled shop has been replaced with a more Cali-appropriate planting of cacti and other desert shrubs.
The new boutique, set to open next month, makes West Hollywood Marant’s eleventh location. The French designer already has shops in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Madrid and Beirut. Marant, who started designed in in 1989, is known for her minimalist clothing. She created Etoile, a lower-priced line, in 1999 and introduced apparel for children in 2005.
