COVID vaccinations efforts in Los Angeles County continue with approximately 38% of residents having received at least one vaccine injection – about 13% of residents in the county are now fully vaccinated and another 13% have had their first dose.
As of this week, a total of 3,794,829 doses have been administered in Los Angeles County, which has a population of approximately 10 million, by the various providers. That total is more than 2.5 million first doses — including about 67,000 doses of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine — and about 1.2 million second doses.
There are 676 people currently in the hospital in Los Angeles County according to county health officials. That’s 16 fewer than on Friday when there were 692 people hospitalized.
The county’s all-time high for COVID hospitalizations occurred on Jan. 7, when there were 8,098 people hospitalized.
There are currently 166 people in the ICU, according to the state, down from 170 on Friday. The county’s total ICU capacity is about 2,500 beds.
County health officials announced 23 more COVID-related deaths on Saturday. The cumulative death toll in LA County is 23,078 people.
The highest number of COVID deaths in a single day occurred on Jan. 8 with 318 deaths. The second highest occurred on Jan. 30 with 316 deaths.
LA County reported 700 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The county now has a cumulative total of 1,217,707 cases since the pandemic began in March.
To date, almost 6.06 million people in the county have been tested for the coronavirus since the pandemic began.
West Hollywood recorded 1 new case; the cumulative total is 2,219 cases since the pandemic began. The city had no new deaths. However, the health department has revised its cumulative number of deaths for the city. Previously, the health department listed 38 deaths in the city, but on Saturday, the number was revised to 36. No explanation was offered, but likely someone had listed their address as West Hollywood, but investigation showed it was not within the city limits.

- Beverly Hills – no new cases for a total of 2,580 cases and 33 deaths.
- Carthay neighborhood – 2 new cases for a total of 904 cases and 68 deaths.
- Century City – 1 new case for a total of 590 cases and 13 deaths.
- Culver City – 3 new cases for a total of 2,139 cases and 97 deaths.
- Hollywood – 8 new cases for a total of 5,377 cases and 67 deaths.
- Melrose neighborhood – 7 new cases total of 8,015 cases and 201 deaths.
- Miracle Mile – 1 new case for a total of 949 cases and 15 deaths.
- Park La Brea – no new cases for a total of 594 cases and 1 death.
- Santa Monica – 20 new cases for a total of 4,572 cases and 169 deaths.
The Carthay neighborhood incorporates the areas of Los Angeles between the Beverly Hills city limits and Fairfax Avenue, with Beverly Boulevard as the northern border and Wilshire Boulevard as the southern border.
The Melrose neighborhood incorporates the areas of Los Angeles east of La Cienega and west of Vermont Avenue, between Santa Monica Boulevard on the north and Beverly Boulevard on the south.
