A West Hollywood Original: Care, Craft, and Community—Built on a Corner

Founded and built in West Hollywood, The Collar Club is a locally born boutique ecosystem that has contributed to the city’s economic, cultural, and civic fabric—often from a single corner. As documented by The New York Times, our work has created local jobs, demonstrated sustainable business operations in one of the most highly regulated labor markets in the country, and helped extend West Hollywood’s identity onto national and international stages.

While The Collar Club is the standards-driven ecosystem behind the experience, the public-facing expression of our work is Collar & Comb — Boutique Grooming, Wellness & Life Care. This distinction is intentional. Grooming, wellness, and life care are how most people encounter our work—clearly, accessibly, and with accountability—while the broader ecosystem quietly ensures that every service operates under the same non-negotiable principles: quality without compromise, safety first, and transparency always.

Over the past eight years, this approach has transformed more than a business—it has reshaped a place. When we invested in our West Hollywood location, the corner had long struggled with chronic vandalism, break-ins, and unsafe activity. Through constant presence, clear policies, private security, and daily stewardship, we restored order and returned the space to its intended civic use.

Today, that corner functions as a genuine community hub—one that invites socialization, creativity, and connection while maintaining clear boundaries and respect for shared space. It reflects the same values West Hollywood is known for: inclusivity, accountability, intentional design, and care for both people and place.

At the heart of everything we do is a story that began eight years ago with a dog named Cavalino. Cavalino wasn’t simply a pet. He was family, a working partner during military service, and a constant through hardship and recovery. As his physical and emotional needs became more complex, it became clear that much of the pet care industry was not designed for animals like him.

What began as a single grooming concept evolved into a spoke-style ecosystem intentionally designed so that every part of the experience reflects the same values we demanded for Cavalino himself: dignity in care, meaningful quality, uncompromising safety, and honest communication.

Today, Collar & Comb offers AKC-standard, one-on-one, cage-free grooming for dogs and cats in soundproof spa suites. Membership is never required for grooming, and guests are always welcome to book standalone services.

Although Cavalino is no longer with us, his legacy lives in every space we build, every service we offer, and every standard we refuse to compromise. He remains our compass.

The corner is cute as can be. But their prices for daycare are absolutely insanity, but I wish them the very best cause they are trying.

Hi there, i’m not quite certain how you got the idea that would do daycare at this location. This destination does not offer daycare services to the general public. We do offer daycare at our Hollywood Hills Social Sanctuary— a multilevel social club including a 27,000 gallon pool and 1400 ft.² private park over overlooking the entire city with 360° views, on our Sunset strip with our Moet moments champagne lounge , as well as in our Runyon Canyon playground destination. I used to take my dog to the Collar and Comb on Sunset for grooming. The groomers are great; caring and professional. The owner is rude and dishonest and will overcharge you at every opportunity, charging for services not requested.
I agree with the previous posters…..horrible location on the corner of SM and LaCienega, and I know my dog could easily jump that low fence and find himself in major traffic. How much exhaust fumes you getting at that corner? Fake photos and lousy location. Not for my precious doggie!

Huh? I toured. Nope, that intersection is not a place for my dog or any dog, especially the outside yard. And while we’re at it, this facility has been active for less than a year, so how is it providing economic impact to the Weho economy yet? On the upside, it’s nice to see Brandon Garcia contributing.

A bit obvious. Hopefully they will draw that sort of crowd.
