A deadly crash involving a Metro bus and a convertible occurred early Friday morning in West Hollywood.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the collision took place shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and North Orange Grove Avenue.
The driver of the yellow convertible, who has not been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was left severely damaged and turned sideways after striking the rear of the bus.
It remains unclear whether any passengers on the bus were injured. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
We’ll share more information as it becomes available.
The convertible collided with the rear of the bus. I can’t wait for someone to opine that the bus must have somehow caused this.
So sad.
Perhaps someone will opine that we should reduce Santa Monica Blvd to one lane each way now? I’m sure this was Fountain’s fault somehow!
