Drip & Dolce made its debut at 8807 Santa Monica Blvd. Owner Morgan Salmans and her partner Yeni were minding the shop on the store’s first full soft opening day. The grand opening is scheduled for next Saturday September 13th.
The lesbian-owned business opens every morning at 6:30 am and stays open till 4pm.
“We love seeing you guys come in and hopefully everybody keeps coming in for their early morning coffee.” said Morgan. I arrived around 2pm and ordered lunch and asked for the #1 thing on the menu. And soon after the owner Morgan delivered the fried chicken croissant with crispy french fries.
Morgan was sweet and beautiful, very happy to greet the guests and serve the food. The ambiance was updated and the atmosphere perfect. New tables, chairs, flooring with an open free flow feel. It felt cozy and warm and ready to take on the challenge of being WeHo’s new favorite early morning eatery.
Morgan joined me and I asked about herself and their business. “We own a hospitality company and do event production, this is the first of this concept. For our production company we have a mobile bar catering service and we are moving our permanent license over to this location in West Hollywood” A liquor license is in process. “On the weekends we will be able to offer a boozy brunch, like espresso martini flights, bellini flights. and more.”
“But everything is based on a croissant, Our 12 couture croissants are available everyday. And then we offer a breakfast menu and a lunch menu that is a variety of different things from a fried chicken sandwich on a croissant, to a chicken pesto panini, to a BLTA, … on our breakfast menu we have a fantastic breakfast burrito and everything is made in house.

The signature chicken fried sandwich was fantastic. And reasonable. But while eating on the outdoor patio a homeless man came by asking for something to eat. Half went him, – three more vagrants continued to disrupt our conversation and experience. The only major threat to the success of this business is the community of homeless that disrupt the well being of shop owners, customers and businesses. I’ve been screaming about this for years and years. But, its exciting to have a new for an early morning place that is open at 6:30 am – a fantastic new neighbor, the first of two new lesbian-owned businesses opening in WeHo, and a fantastic and warm welcome to Drip & Dolce.
You get a 5-star review.
I stopped by yesterday after reading this and the food was great. And yes there was a vagrant homeless sleeping on the floor right next door the entire time we were eating.
Nice business profile. Writing about the “vagrants” that already plague this new business after being open for one day is bound to get them customers. You clubbed these women on the knee before they had a chance to get their bearing. So typical Larry Block.
I have a store on the next block, we deal with these problems everyday together. You cant sweep the problems under the rug to fix them, we can shine a light and get more action.
You sound like a man hating lesbian who wont support a lesbian-owned business anyway and want to spread hate. Is your name Chris Baldwin?
You are truly sick, where do you get off with this crap? God knows you have no clue what you’re spewing about nor does it make sense.
Each council member and commissioner should be required to eat lunch at Dolce & Drip by themselves in the afternoon on the patio. Let’s see how they handle the non-stop vagrancies and panhandling?
The nonsensical price of doing business in West Hollywood should not be rewarded by having customers run off by homeless. No more homeless rights, get them the f—k out of our city. Enough.
It took till the second paragraph……to understand why this story is here.
I still don’t know why you’re here.
And why do lesbians bother you? Homophobia is always rooted in sexual insecurity – perhaps you should see a therapist to work through those issues instead of venting over and over and over and over and over again on a message board? Thank you, Larry, for this article – it looks like a promising addition to the community.
Why not just highlight the new business? The constant focus on the “identity group” is being rejected in the country. I think that’s the point.
“ The constant focus on the “identity group”
Actually that is ALL that is being focused on now.
