The Sports Equality Foundation honored Advisory Board member Erik Braverman’s induction into the LGBTQ Sports Hall of Fame, honoring more than a decade of trailblazing leadership as an out executive in Major League Baseball.
Braverman, who serves as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Community Relations & Broadcasting for the Los Angeles Dodgers and owns West Hollywood’s popular LGBTQ sports bar Gym Bar, said he felt “blessed and humbled” by the recognition and is eager to continue his advocacy for future generations.

Braverman told WEHOonline: “Living in West Hollywood for almost 30 years has shown me the powr of community, and I’m honored to carry that spirit into my work for equality in sports. This medal is not the finish line –it’s a call to keep moving forward together!”
The Hall of Fame—originally launched in Chicago in 2013 as the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame—was revived this year by the Sports Equality Foundation after an eight-year hiatus. Its mission is to honor LGBTQ athletes, coaches, officials, advocates, and organizations that have broken barriers in sports. Past inductees include icons like Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, and Greg Louganis.
The 2025 ceremony, held August 10 at Park MGM in Las Vegas, welcomed 12 new members, including WNBA player Layshia Clarendon, pioneering NBA referee Violet Palmer, and softball coach Kirk Walker, alongside Braverman.
