The West Hollywood Aesthetics and Politics lecture series features sociologist Pascal Gielen disussing “the ethics of art” from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the library’s Common Room, followed by a lecture by Gielen about “Creativity and Other Fundamentalisms”, with Matias Viegener as respondent.
Gielen is professor of sociology of the arts at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) and directs the research group Arts in Society. Matias Viegener is the author of “2500 Random Things About Me Too,” a book of experimental non-fiction that was hailed as the first book composed on and through Facebook. Admission is free.
