Edible Parkway Gardening Reception

The city of West Hollywood is launching an effort to encourage residents to get the most from public parkway strips by planting them with edible gardens. The parkway strip is the area between the sidewalk and the curb — planting a garden in this strip can be a great way to grow ornamental plants and food.

To kick off the Edible Parkway Gardening effort, the city is sponsoring a reception to debut a newly planted parkway strip at a residence where the homeowners have replanted the parkway strip with a variety of edible plants. Members of the West Hollywood City Council will be in attendance and the reception, with food and refreshments, is open to the public.
