Whether you are a working or aspiring motion picture director, writer, producer or actor, or you’re just curious about the process of movie making, the key to being a successful film maker is to find, foster and create your own projects. This fun and interactive course with one of the LGBT communities most respected filmmakers, Jim Fall (Trick, Wedding Wars, The Lizzie McGuire Movie), is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how film makers find, develop, and actually make a movie. Learn the many and various ways film makers go from idea to finished film.  Topics will include: how to figure out what story to tell,  how to find and secure material for adaptation,  incorporate principles of effective storytelling, the dangers of development, navigating relationships with your creative team, addressing story revisions and notes and knowing when you are ready to move from obsession to production. Students are encouraged to submit a brief one page story/idea outline of their potential movie projects upon enrollment.  These will become the foundation that Fall will use to help guide you (submission instructions will be provided in your enrollment confirmation email.) NOTE This course is presented in two sessions spaced two-weeks apart in order to give students time to apply principles discussed in Part One before returning for Part Two. Tickets, $35, can be purchased online.
