Marriage Equality USA – Screening of ‘Just Gender’ Documentary

Marriage Equality USA will present a screening of the documentary ‘Just Gender.’ Hosted by filmmaker Buck Angel, the successful plaintiff in the transgender marriage case Miller v. Angel, the screening will be the centerpiece of an evening exploring transgender experiences and issues including marriage equality.

Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with: Drian Juarez, director of the Transgender Economic Empowerment Project for the Los Angeles LGBT Center; Dr. E. Jaye Johnson, chair of the West Hollywood Transgender Advisory Board; and Bamby Salcedo, President of Translatin@ Coalition. ‘Just Gender’ explores the common myths and misunderstandings about transgender people, as well as the confusion between sexual orientation and gender identity as reflected in the rigid binary view of the world generally held by society.
