PrEP: Medical Tool in the Shadows – West Hollywood’s Gay Men’s Discussion Group TRIBE Discussion

The City of West Hollywood’s Gay Men’s Discussion Group TRIBE continues its monthly series. This month, TRIBE will discuss the use of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). Why has it been so controversial? Discussion will focus on the social, political, and economic impacts that PrEP is having – or could have – on the gay community and beyond. Discussion topics include: perceptions of HIV; safe sex; HIV stigma and the controversy around Truvada; and sex positive/negative effects on behavior. TRIBE discussions are open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to discuss their own experiences about issues of importance to the gay male community.
