
A Fountain Avenue DUI crash near Plummer Park left an SUV on its side Wednesday night, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
The call came in just after 7:20 p.m. as a 901T traffic collision with an overturned vehicle. Radio traffic put out to West Hollywood units asked for a Code 3 (lights and sirens) response to the Fountain side of 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard, in the area of Fountain Avenue and Vista Street along the north edge of Plummer Park.
Sheriff’s officials told WEHOonline on Thursday morning the vehicle had been heading westbound on Fountain Avenue when it hit parked vehicles and overturned.
Deputies said the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. Details about injuries were not immediately available, including a full count of how many parked vehicles were damaged in the crash. Witnesses said a parked BMW was struck.

Separate DUI Crash Sends Car Into Former Norah Building
In a separate case, a 23-year-old driver is facing a felony DUI booking after an early morning crash on Santa Monica Boulevard that sent another car into a building, according to a report from our in the Beverly Press, citing the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 30, two cars were headed east in the 8200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, just past Sweetzer Avenue, when one rear-ended the other. Sgt. Omar Luevano told the outlet that the impact caused the lead vehicle to veer out of control and slam into a vacant building at 8279 Santa Monica Boulevard, the former home of Norah restaurant.
Deputies at the scene reported that the driver identified as Brenthon Rodriguez showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. After field sobriety tests, he was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and taken to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station for booking. He was later released on his own recognizance while the case moves forward to court.
