Green Qween opens in Boystown

The Green Qween Cannabis Dispensary made its West Hollywood debut this past weekend.  Located steps from the rainbow crosswalks at the corner of Santa Monica and San Vicente the Green Qween is the first cannabis dispensary in the heart of WeHo’s busiest nightlife area.

Green Qween was founded by Andrés Rigal and Taylor Bazley opening their first downtown location in 2022.   This past year they teamed up with Tristan Schukraft, owner Abbey/Chapel bar and restaurant as well as Mistr.    Schukraft leases two spaces for on Santa Monca Blvd. for Mistr, the location at 802. N San Vicente had been vacant for a number of years, the location at 8700 Santa Monica Blvd.  is open.

Green Qween founders Andrés Rigal and Taylor Bazley celebrate their newest venture.

Controversy over the opening of Green Qween sparked debate when city staff moved the tots program in West Hollywood Park to allow the location to activate selling cannabis.    California state law mandates a 600-foot buffer zone between any licensed commercial cannabis business, and schools, daycare centers, and youth centers.cannabis dispensary to not be located within 500 feet of a school or children’s area.

The location was considered ineligible and within a buffer zone during West Hollywood’s lottery for cannabis licenses until Schukraft was able to get the changes approved through city hall and approved by the Business License Commission.   WEHOonline reported about it https://wehoonline.com/mistr-will-become-cannabis-dispensary/

Point of clarification – Phatom Flower, the defunct consumption lounge that took offline Flaming Saddles, actually got the rules clarified years before Green Qween went before the BLC. Neither Green Qween nor Tristan were involved with any rule changes.

With the number of people in Recovery, we do not need another dispensary in West Hollywood. It is transparent of the extreme corruption in our city and are incompetent city council that does absolutely nothing to protect quality of life here. Those greedy bastards who open a dispensary and make millions of dollars per month in cash sales While violating federal law are an offense to our city. Get them out. Get them the fuck out. And as we’re at it, get rid of the city council too.

SMB must be turn into a High Street. Businesses that appeal to everyone…..and creates a retail energy. A visible sign of a healthy community.

The pot shops and shady bars…….just accelerate the decline. There’s a certain group that this appeals to (people that aren’t going anywhere in life). .

Truth. Had a friend visit WeHo recently that used to live here a few years back. His remark to us,”wow, WeHo has really gone downhill.”
