HALLOWEEN WEST HOLLYWOOD 2025

The City of West Hollywood’s legendary Halloween Carnaval is back Friday, October 31, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., transforming Santa Monica Boulevard into one of the world’s most vibrant and unforgettable Halloween celebrations

The Carnaval, free and open to the public, is a one-night-only street celebration that draws costumed revelers from across Southern California—and beyond. For over three decades, Halloween in West Hollywood has been a showcase of creativity, self-expression, and inclusive celebration. First launched in 1987, the event has grown into an international destination for anyone ready to celebrate the holiday in full costume and in full color.

This year, the City invites the public to experience not just the mile-long stretch of festivities along Santa Monica Boulevard, but also to explore the neighborhood’s iconic bars, restaurants, clubs, and hotels, many of which are planning Halloween-themed menus, parties, and entertainment to welcome Carnaval-goers before, during, and after the main event.

Event Details:

  • Date: Friday, October 31, 2025

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Location: Santa Monica Boulevard between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard

  • More Info: weho.org/halloween

A live DJ stage will anchor the celebration at Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevard, and dozens of food trucks will be stationed throughout the area. Attendees are encouraged to share their costumes on social media using the hashtag #wehohalloween and to tag @wehocity.

Plan Ahead: Street Closures and Parking Info

To prepare for the event, the City will implement major street closures beginning early on Halloween:

  • Santa Monica Boulevard (Croft to Doheny): Closed from 10 a.m. on October 31 to 6 a.m. on November 1

  • San Vicente Boulevard (Santa Monica to Melrose): Closed from 12:01 a.m. on October 31 to 7 a.m. on November 1

  • La Cienega Boulevard (Holloway to Willoughby): Closed from 10 a.m. on October 31 to 6 a.m. on November 1

  • Robertson Boulevard (Santa Monica to Melrose): Closed from 10 a.m. on October 31 to 6 a.m. on November 1

A full list of closures and parking impacts is available at weho.org/halloween.

Permit parking restrictions will also be suspended between 11 a.m. on October 31 and 12 p.m. on November 1.

Getting There Safely

The City strongly encourages attendees to avoid driving. Instead, use rideshare, public transit, or the free WeHo Halloween Ride — a special shuttle service running from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard, with service to and from the Hollywood/Highland Metro station until midnight. Visit wehopickup.com for route details.

Metro riders can access West Hollywood via lines 4, 10, 30/330, 105, 212/312, 217, and 218. For route changes due to street closures, go to metro.net.

  • No weapons or replicas

  • No drones

  • No pets or young children

  • Clear plastic bags only

If you witness anything suspicious, contact the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station at 310-855-8850 or call 911 in an emergency.

West Hollywood Businesses Join the Celebration

In addition to the main street event, many of West Hollywood’s most iconic bars, restaurants, clubs, and hotels are planning special Halloween programming from October 24 through November 2. The City has waived select permit fees to support small-scale Halloween events at local businesses.

For business inquiries or to apply for event permits by the October 6, 2025 deadline, contact the City’s Neighborhood and Business Safety Division at code@weho.org or call 323-848-6437.

Please, please, no little kids, especially those in strollers. Get a babysitter. This is an adult event.

And please, please, no dogs. The dog won’t want to be there and it’s dangerous because people in very dense crowds can fall over them.

All things considered of how woke WeHo and L.A. have become, this once awesome event is certain to be particularly frightfuland terrifying this year. Unlike the years Pink, Jonas Bros., Better than Ezra, Jody Watley, and Robyn performed for free.
