The Guinness Book of World Records is a British reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world.
The first edition topped the bestseller list in the United Kingdom in 1955. The following year the book was launched internationally, and as of the 2025 edition, it is now in its 70th year of publication, published in 100 countries and 40 languages, and maintains over 53,000 records in its database.
For the year 2025, there is one new addition and world record holder: Hamburger Mary’s.
The Guinness World Record certificate state “The longest-running drag-themed restaurant franchise is Hamburger Mary’s (USA), which has been serving food and staging drag performances since 1972.
West Hollywood’s Hamburger Mary’s is on the corner of Sweetzer @ Santa Monica Blvd.

Misleading to think that this article in WehoOnline has anything to do with the West Hollywood location. The chain began decades ago and expanded. The West Hollywood location is not that old.
It started long before it was filled with drunk bachelorette parties.
It’s more a case of West Hollywood being passed the torch and crossing the finish line❗ ??
Note that drunk bachelorettes are NOT physically difficult to handle and they tend to spend a good deal of ?money on their parties.
