Someone T-boned a blue Honda CR-V at Hancock Avenue and Holloway Drive just after noon Wednesday, trapping the driver inside, then took off westbound on Holloway in a gray Nissan pickup. It’s the kind of crash that’s become a recurring story in West Hollywood — and the numbers behind it are getting harder to ignore.
West Hollywood units went Code 3. LA County Fire’s 949 responded under TAC 48. The intersection was blocked for much of the afternoon.
Driver pinned inside
The Honda’s driver was stuck in the vehicle after impact. Firefighters worked to free the occupant as a sheriff’s deputy and utility workers stood by. A stretcher was staged at the scene. Condition of the victim wasn’t available.
Suspect fled westbound
The gray Nissan pickup was last seen heading west on Holloway Drive. No word on whether the driver was located. WEHOonline is following up with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
Wednesday’s crash comes as city officials and residents are running out of patience with numbers that keep getting worse. The sheriff’s department annual report, presented to the City Council last week, showed 991 traffic collision investigations in West Hollywood in 2025 — up 30% from 762 the year before. Fatal collisions doubled, from two to four. Pedestrian strikes jumped from 54 to 82. Hit-and-runs climbed to 211. DUI-related crashes were up 76%.

That is a low speed/low impact location. You had to be flying to T-bone somebody there. Also TYPO in the headline “Handcock” 🙂
Oy! 🤦🏻♂️thank you. Though yours would’ve been better… our was Handcrock.
I live at a gay address: between palm and hancock! Typo in first sentence too.
