Some high-class problems really are high-class. Jason Oppenheim didn’t plan to announce his Rolls-Royce was missing but that’s exactly what he did at a WeHo political fundraiser.
The “Selling Sunset” star and Oppenheim Group founder was hosting an event at his brokerage’s Sunset Strip office on April 3 alongside developer Rick Caruso — a fundraiser for San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, who is running for California governor — when he revealed the luxury sedan had vanished from the property weeks earlier.
The car was valued at roughly $500,000, was taken from the 8600 block of Sunset Boulevard back on March 16, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Cops confirmed a theft report was filed same day. As of Monday morning, the fancy wheels still hadn’t been recovered and no suspects had been identified.
Oppenheim told those at the event the car was gone when he returned to the parking lot at the end of the workday. He didn’t notice it missing until he went to leave.
NBC Los Angeles, which first reported the Sheriff’s Department confirmation Sunday, said investigators are continuing to track down leads.
His Sunset Strip office has been a West Hollywood fixture since 2014. The brokerage is the central setting of “Selling Sunset,” Netflix’s longest-running original series.
Mahan, who describes himself as a moderate Democrat and San Jose’s mayor since 2023, announced his gubernatorial campaign in January. Rick Caruso, a Los Angeles real estate developer who lost his bid to be 2022 LA mayor to Karen Bass back in 2022, has endorsed Mahan.
Anyone with information about the stolen vehicle is asked to contact the LASD West Hollywood Station at (310) 855-8850 or LA Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Thank you for informing me that crooked developer and losing Mayoral candidate Rick “Corrupto” Caruso supports Matt Mahan. That’s all I need to know to let my friends and family know not to consider Mahan for CA Governor

Is this same car that got into an accident on Hammond during Oscar’s?
Hi, Uron. I don’t believe so. The description of the two vehicles are different and Jason’s remains missing. Nutty two RR stories so closely timed, but it looks as though they are unrelated.
