Climb a balcony, end up in jail — if the cops are looking for you.

That’s what happened last night when Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Saturday evening after he was found trespassing on an apartment balcony on the 1200 block of Kings Road near Fountain Avenue.

West Hollywood resident Sarah Adolphson photographed the scene around 7:30 p.m. and shared the images with WEHOonline. Her photos show multiple Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department units and fire trucks responding along Kings Road. One witness said it seemed “like a lot for one guy trespassing.”

Turns out there was more to the story.

WEHOonline reached a Sheriff’s deputy by phone Sunday afternoon. “Deputies contacted the disturbing party on the balcony,” the deputy said. “The disturbing party was arrested for a felony warrant.” The warrant was outstanding — it predated Saturday’s trespassing call. Deputies were not in pursuit of the suspect at the time. He was already on the balcony when they arrived.

The man was taken into custody without incident. He was not armed and no other parties were involved.

The West Hollywood Station logged 112 Part 1 crimes in February, down 21 percent from the same month last year. Felony arrests have trended upward through the first two months of 2026.

The incident comes as residential break-ins have trended upward in West Hollywood. Deputies recorded 20 residential burglaries through February, up 33 percent from 15 during the same period last year, according to the West Hollywood Station’s monthly crime report. WEHOonline reported on the trend in March. Deputies made 53 felony arrests in January, according to the same data. Saturday’s arrest added to that count.

Looks like it was just another night in LaLaLand.
